Staycation hullabaloo, part 2!

The last part of our vacation, we decided to go to the Museum of Transportation with my friend Mandy, her son Jace, and the baby she nannies for, Dylan. We had fun even though it was misting for most of our trip! Here are some pics from the day.

I don't know what's going on here, but Kaden looks uber pissed at Mandy. LOL

Kaden sitting in one of the seats in the caboose of the train.

Mike and Kaden climbing on the front of the train (even though there are signs saying not to, tssk tssk)

Jace and Kaden really checking out the train.

Sunday night, completed our vacation and while we were outside playing a kitten ran up to Mike from the corn fields. Some bastards must've dropped him off and left him (I watched a silver car pull up to the end of the street, a little girl maybe 7 yrs old got out, went to the corn, bent down, and ran back to the car. Then the car took off down the street.) Only when the kitten ran up to us did I figure out what happened! He's so tiny (1.6 lbs according to the vet)! Kaden immediately fell in love with him, he kept saying, "Thhh, Thhh" (Kitty, kitty). He said it over and over and over. He picked him up, set him down, picked him up again, threw him down. LOL He kept giggling and having a blast. After asking around, the cat was not any of the neighbors so we decided to bring him in and get him a bath and try to clean him up. Somewhere along the way we decided to keep him (Mike reluctantly agreed). Kaden decided we would name him Diego (yes, like the cartoon). LOL We took him to the vet today and are starting to get him cleaned up and ready to play with our other kitties. Because of all his critters (he has ear mites, fleas, and ringworm) he has to be secluded and we put him in a box in our basement for now. He eats like a pig, poor thing was probably neglected and malnourished. Like I said before, he's only 1.6 lbs and the vet estimates him to be 8 weeks (my guess was 6). Kaden loves him already and when he woke up this morning ran to go see him! Here are some pictures of Diego the kitty!

The crazy thing is very friendly and kept trying to climb up to my face while I was taking his picture.

Here he is playing with a mouse I got for him.

He's playing with the mouse still!

Okay, I believe that's all I have for now. It's back to the grind now! :)

Staycation fun, part 1!

This past week, Mike and I were on vacation, but didn't really have any plans to go anywhere. We started off the week, by going to the carnival in Bethalto. Kaden and I rode the Merry Go Round (where I got dizzy LOL) and Mike and him rode the Dizzy Dragons. I opted out of that one since the Merry Go Round made me dizzy. LOL There is a wheel in the dragon that when turned turns the dragon in circles. The whole thing also goes around in circles, talk about too many circles! It's kinda like the teacups if anyone is confused about my explanation.

We also planned to go visit my parents for a few days and then decided to go to the Indianapolis Zoo! My mom went with us and we had lots of fun even though it was hotter than hell! The Indy Zoo is much smaller than the St Louis Zoo, but we really enjoyed the fact that we were much closer to the animals and actually could see them! Kaden touched sharks and was thrilled to death with that. I, unfortunately, didn't get any pics because my camera battery died before I could, but my mom has some, so when I get the pics from her, I'll try to remember to blog them! Here are some of the highlights of our trip.

This is a big ass walrus that has silver caps on its tusks. Guess someone had some cavities! LOL

Kaden and Mike in the 360 degree dolphin viewing area!

Mike and Kaden on the train. Kaden didn't want his picture taken. LOL

This is how close we could get to the animals! Crazy, huh?

Another pretty close shot of animals.

Kaden and I cooling off!! It was HOT!

Kaden and my mom at the shark exhibit. This is the point in which my camera died!

There's more to come, blogger just won't allow me to upload anymore pics to one blog! Boo!

Grant's Farm

Okay, so I'm blogging this a LITTLE late. Last week, we went to Grant's Farm and had a blast. For those who aren't aware, Grant's Farm is a property of Anheuser Busch and since the take over will be sold along with all the other parks. Kaden had never been and we wanted to go before it was sold and possibly closed or whatnot. We met up with Mandy, Jace, and Dylan along with Mary and AJ. Our first order of business was to feed the baby goats a bottle. Kaden loved it, as did the goats. They practically tackled us for those bottles! LOL Here are a few pics of Kaden feeding the goats their bottles.

The boys had so much fun! We saw HUGE turtles and elephants and even got to pet a camel! The camel tried eating Mike's hat and my hair. It was pretty funny.

Mandy, Jace and Dylan in front of the elephants!

Kaden thought the camel was pretty cool!

Chuck E. Cheese please!

Tonight, Mike, Kaden and I went to Chuck E. Cheese to play and have fun. We had a blast. Kaden was dancing and waving to the big characters out front who sing and dance. Mike and I had fun with Ski Ball and the Deal or No Deal game, while Kaden had fun just dumping one token cup out of the other token cup! LOL Here are some pictures from tonight.

Watching Chuck E. Cheese and the gang sing.

Clapping for CEC and the gang!

Playing a game with daddy.

STOMPING SPIDERS!

YAY MOMMY, I GOT THEM!

Driving with daddy.

Oh yeah, and don't forget the fun we had AFTER CEC.... I locked the keys in the car, so my Father-in-law had to drive from his house to ours to get the keys, then to Fairview Heights to CEC to bring us the keys. FIL got lost on the way to CEC so it took him a while to get to us. We went in and played some more games. LOL We won over 280 tickets in that time!! I think Mike won most of them with Deal or No Deal.

My first blog... ever.

Well, I've been considering starting a blog for a while now. I'm a little late starting this blog about my life with a child, but friends have encouraged me to try it enough that I thought, "What the heck." So, here I am. I really don't have too much to talk about tonight, except I'd like to shamelessly AW (attention whore) my son. :)

He said his first sentence today. We went to Wal-Mart and I bought him a matchbox car since his recent obsession has become cars. He sounds like he's from Boston when he says it, it's so dang cute! He was playing with his car once we got home and said, "Go car." OMG, my jaw hit the floor. This is the kid who's gone from only having a 15 word vocabulary to about 25 in just over a week. I'm so excited he's finally talking, but as my mom assures me, I'll soon be wishing he'd just shut up. LOL

Well, I guess I'll call it a night and try this again another day. Oh, and be on the lookout for another blog for work stories. LOL That should be rather entertaining!!
